Biography

Dr. Yiyang Chen is a postdoctoral researcher and statistician at the CARE lab. She completed her undergraduate degrees in Statistics and Psychology at Peking University. She completed her Ph.D. in Quantitative Psychology at the Ohio State University under the supervision and mentorship of Dr. Trisha Van Zandt. Dr. Chen has expertise in Bayesian modeling and hierarchical structures.

Research

Dr. Chen’s research focuses on developing, testing, and applying statistical methods for psychopathology studies. She uses hierarchical and longitudinal approaches to investigate the associations between eating disorder symptoms, the link of eating disorders to other psychopathological conditions, and the dynamics underlying eating disorder development. She is also interested in using quantitative methods to improve the assessment, classification, and treatment of eating disorders.
