Karmen Mills

Ms. Karmen Mills is the Assistant Director of External and Systems Coaching for the Life Span Institute, SWIFT Education Center. She joined the SWIFT team in 2021. She has worked in education for nearly 20 years with a goal of creating schools where each student has access to high quality and equitable supports.  She began her career as a School Psychologist supporting students, staff, and families to address diverse learning needs.  She continued her work in Maryland with a non-profit organization that supports inclusive practices across the state, and returned to NC  in a state-level position working with districts and schools to implement a Multi-Tiered System of Support.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts, a Masters of Arts, and a Specialist Degree in the area of School Psychology.
