Biography —
Hannah Park is an Assistant Professor in the School of Architecture and Design. Her current research focuses on 1. UIUX design for EHR and healthcare monitoring systems; 2. Service design for promoting mental wellness and preventing mental illness; 3. Measuring the effectiveness of Design thinking education for design and non-design major students; and 4. Utilization of design thinking. Park received her BFA at Parsons the New School for Design, New York, and her MDes at York University, Toronto.
From promoting healthy financial habits for millennials to helping pet parents to have peace of mind for their dogs’ well-being, Park led a wide-range of community engagement scholarship projects with her design students. Those projects were funded by profit and non-profit organizations including Audubon National Society, Frost Bank, Hill’s Pet Nutrition (Colgate-Palmolive), Loeb Properties, Make A Wish Foundation, Mayor’s Innovation Team, SRVS Disability Support Memphis, and Frost Bank. One of her ongoing research projects, ‘Project Lemonaid: Mobile Outreach Hub for Mental Wellness’ was selected as a finalist at the ‘Learn by Design’ competition, 2019 SXSW EDU. Park’s research has been presented and published internationally including AIGA, CAA, Cumulus, E&PDE, Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, SXSW EDU, and TEDx.
