Biography

Dr. Kandace Fleming received a Ph.D. in Psychology and Research in Education in 1998. She has worked within the Research Design and Analysis (RDA) Unit of the Life Span Institute since receiving her Ph.D. In 2019, she became the Director of the RDA unit within the Life Span Institute as well as the Director of the Research Design and Analysis Core of the Kansas Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Research Center. In 2020, she was promoted to Senior Scientist.

Dr. Fleming has contributed to several research projects including the current study. Some of her other recent projects include: The CCS: A Treatment Outcome Measure for Individuals with Severe ID (Co-Principal Investigator), The Effects of Parenting on the Development and Behavior of FXS Adolescents (Co-Investigator), Rural Disparities in Pediatric Obesity: The iAmHealthy Intervention (Co-Investigator), and the Adapting the Diabetes Prevention Program for a Developing World Context (Co-Investigator).

Dr. Fleming’s research focuses on:

• Application of multilevel models to longitudinal and clustered data

• Applying single-subject and small sample statistical techniques to data collected from specialized populations

• Measurement and instrument development

Dr. Fleming enjoys attending theatrical and sporting events with her husband and children.
