Mosconi to Co-Chair Annual Meeting of International Society for Autism Research

Matt Mosconi, interim associate director and senior scientist at the KU Life Span Institute, has been selected to help lead the scientific program for the International Society for Autism Research, or INSAR, over the next two years.

Mosconi, who directs the Kansas Center for Autism Research and Training at KU, will co-chair the scientific program for the society’s annual meeting in May 2023, and will be chair of the scientific program for the 2024 meeting. The conference is the preeminent meeting for autism research and brings together scientists from around the world to stimulate research on the nature, causes, and treatments of autism.

INSAR is a scientific and professional organization established in 2001 that is home to the research journal Autism Research.

In addition to his administrative roles at the KU Life Span Institute, Mosconi is a professor in the clinical child psychology program and leads research examining sensorimotor, cognitive and brain development in autism spectrum and related intellectual and developmental disorders. He is director of the Biobehavioral Research on Autism, Intellectual and Neurodevelopmental disabilities laboratory (BRAIN lab), which studies brain development and how it relates to thinking abilities, movement abilities, and sensory processing.
