Researcher Receives Grant to Study the Relationship between Addiction and Decision-Making

A federal grant awarded through the KU Medical Center Frontiers program to a Life Span Institute investigator will support addiction research focused on the relationship between tobacco addiction and decision-making. 

Anahi Collado, assistant research professor at the Cofrin Logan Center for Addiction Research and Treatment will apply for the $202,404 grant to expand an ongoing project in Baltimore, MD., that addresses smoking addiction and potential interventions for underserved people in low socioeconomic communities.

The study's overall aim is to test the effectiveness of a digital working memory training program as a prevention or intervention measure that can support tobacco smoking cessation.
