Staff Share Systems of Support for Employment and Transition with Disability Caucus

Staff from the KU Life Span Institute joined dozens of individuals with disabilities, advocates and professionals from across the state Aug. 10-12 at the Kansas Disability Caucus in Topeka, Kan.

The event aims to provide opportunities for Kansans with disabilities to learn, share, and provide solutions to issues faced by the disability community.

Brad Linnenkamp and Evan Dean, researchers at the KU Center on Developmental Disabilities, talked with disability advocates about systems of supports for employment and transition from high school.

As part of the discussion, they presented two systems change projects being led by KUCDD. The projects are designed to engage Kansas communities to identify ways to enhance employment and transition outcomes. 

In addition to Linnenkam and Dean, other members of the team included researchers Karrie Shogren, Sheida Raley, Jenn Bumble, and Sean Swindler.
