Biography —
Dr. Kepple is an Assistant Professor in the School of Social Welfare. She earned her M.S.W. and Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles. For over 10 years, Dr. Kepple worked as a practitioner in the City of Los Angeles, serving individuals exposed to community and family violence and addressing their needs related to mental health, substance use, and social support. Her research broadly examines the social consequences of the availability, distribution, and use of psychoactive substances. Currently, her research focuses on three areas: (1) the consequences of changing policies related to marijuana and opioid distribution, use, and treatment; (2) SUD service sector capacity to address emerging community needs; and (3) identification of conditions that mitigate risk for child harm among substance-using parents.
