KU receives grant to improve life for people with disabilities
As a wheelchair user KU research professor Dot Nary knows the hassle of having limited access.
"Think about if you're using a wheelchair and you can't put those running shoes on and go around the block a few times," Nary said. She says she’s happy KU has the opportunity to change things.
"It's very exciting; again physical activity is an important health trend but often people with particularly mobility impairments are left out of that," Nary said. With a recent $1.5 million grant from the CDC, new funding will ensure everyone is included.
